Still getting organized

14th July - We are nearly there.....   it has taken a while but we have completed everything for the new house build and will return to our new home in the final stages of construction.  We have been busy indeed.

We have had a few trips to the Gold Coast for various reasons and the cattery took almost four days to construct, a lot longer than we anticipated.  Both cats are now in Grafton, now known as Grafton Gaol :).  Maui has settled in well and Mousey has only just gone up river after disappearing for a sleep on the day of departure from here.  She went up yesterday and her vet appointment was re-scheduled to Wednesday 16th.

Glen has finished the kayak rack on the camper trailer.  We have ordered a new strut for the front boot to replace the current strut which has failed. Can't image travelling all around australia propping up the lid with a stick.

The weather is uncertain at the moment, so we will not be able to put the trailer up until later this week when the clear sunny days return.  We don't want to have to pack it down wet.  Glen will work on the brakes the next couple of days.

Today, I did a practice camp oven cook up.  I made, apple turnovers, vegetable quiche and whole apples baked in pastry.  This was to use up the pastry sheets in the freezer.  Everything turned out well.  The wind really got up and it was hard to judge exactly how hot the oven was.

We will be doing our trip shop this week and the plan is to get on the road around the 22nd, basically in a week's time.

First stop will be Moree which is almost direct west.

Our first night will be in a cabin and the hot springs :0  A good way to start the trip.  We will then travel on to Thrushton National Park to camp for a couple of days.
