Lake Indoon:
We headed inland on the Brand Highway, did a loop through Dongara and Port Denison to Eneabba where we turned west towards Lake Indoon.
It’s a great free camp with hot showers, bbq and toilet facilities. We camped further along the lake and set out our own toilet and shower. This was to take a couple of days break from travelling.
It is a small round lake with a lot of birds on it. Grey Teal Ducks, Swans and Stilts. There were hundreds of Grey Wood Swallows chasing insects in the sky. We saw quite a few Ring Neck Parrots and a reminder of home with the laughing kookaburra. Of course, we have trees again :) I love the call of the ducks, it is like a laugh, it always makes me smile when I hear them. I imagine that they are floating around out there telling jokes. The sand is soft and white.
We were out of the wind and did our basic set up using the car canopy as shade over the camper kitchen and our old car canopy we converted as mini annex roof over the camper door before we came away. This gave us heaps of shade without having to put the annex roof on.
The ensuite set up. The overnight temperatures were quite down at 9c and on Sunday it was 38c. There was enough breeze to keep us comfortable. Unfortunately there is no swimming in the lake as some algae grows in hot weather and is not conducive to your health.
While we were here, Glen repacked the wheels bearings on the trailer and I worked on my cross stitching.
The stilts make a barking sound if anyone approaches.
When we were packing up, we found a motor bike frog trying to hide under the camper in the shade, I moved him into a bush as he was fair game for the butcher birds out in the open.
A cute bunny living near the camp, only saw it for a few seconds late Friday afternoon, but managed a photo.
