Overnight we had steady rain, quite a few of the campers packed up – but are now obviously stuck on the road towards Copley as the roads are closed. We decided that it wasn’t worth it and we will stay until Monday. It should start to clear tomorrow, but we need to be able to visit the surgery in Leigh Creek for the script and it will be closed over the weekend. This will also give the roads a chance to dry out. There is water lying about, however, none of the creeks are flowing around Arkaroola. The road closure will be because of the rain and the mud. The roads will be very muddy and slippery. We saw cars come in yesterday thickly loaded with mud and that was just with a sprinkle, I can’t imagine it now.
We spent some time on the computers late morning and after lunch went for a drive, mid afternoon, we set ourselves up in the car – using our car shades as our in car cinema – with the laptop on the dash, just like at the drive-in all those years ago and watched one of the Dr Blake Mysteries streamed on iview. Who would have thought all those years ago that this technology would be available. I even pulled out a can of drink and chocolate from our fridge behind my seat for us to share. What more could you want?
