Collie Christmas Parade
This afternoon we went in to Collie to do a top up shop and see the Christmas street parade and night time markets.
The DVD lady wasn’t there :( Shouldn’t be greedy, we have heaps anyway.
The parade is led by the church community – Jesus is the reason for the season.
There were lots of dance studios represented. Lots of lollies tossed to the crowds.
We were given a wrapped present which was a nice cross bookmark.
Don’t know that I would want these nurses to look after me, the poor fellow in the wheel chair has not been fed for quite a long time.
There wouldn’t be any banter without Santa.
Santa with his six boomers and elves was popular.
There was a huge line up at the street fair to see Santa. We forget that these towns don’t have store Santa’s every second block. The kids are keen to talk to him to make sure he got their list.
The parade goes around the town twice. The main street is closed to traffic and the shops stay open late. There is a fair ground set up and also markets, food stall, and live music.
It was great, we really enjoyed it.
